The Fuller Story . . .
Lisa loves how words turn into stories whether in books, movies or music. Always an avid reader and fan of romance, thrillers, and horror stories, she writes sensual contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and thrillers with strong romantic elements. Her stories feature smart, sexy characters of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Lisa graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature, went on to obtain a law degree and pass the bar exam in two states. Her passion for the creative arts led her to practice intellectual property, entertainment, and media law (representing GRAMMY® Award winning singers/songwriters, Fortune 500 companies, and cutting-edge entrepreneurs) for over two decades before she decided to start producing her own creative works instead of simply representing others who did.
As a former practicing attorney, she’s passionate about helping creative artists become savvy entrepreneurs. In her other life, she puts her expertise to use as a business strategist and entrepreneur coach. Following the advice she’s given clients for years, she’s building an indie author portfolio designed to bring readers hours of page-turning pleasure. Lisa’s debut novels showcase her penchant for strong, contemporary women and her passion for love, law, and football. Each of her novels, as well as the anthology containing her first novella, hit Amazon Best Seller lists.
Harlequin® So You Think You Can Write
In 2013, Lisa was a Top 10 Finalist in the prestigious, global Harlequin® So You Think You Can Write contest with her first manuscript (a contemporary romance targeted for the Harlequin Desire line). Harlequin editors narrowed 650+ first chapter entries from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa down to the Top 50 semifinalists. Then, they reviewed the complete manuscripts of the Top 50 semifinalists and narrowed those down to the Top 10. Online public voting decided the winner. Although Lisa didn’t win top honors, she considers her finalist’s berth in a contest of that magnitude a major achievement.
To stay abreast of what’s going on in the publishing industry and to hone her craft to bring readers story excellence, Lisa is an active member of Romance Writers of America® (RWA), including their Kiss of Death Romantic Suspense Chapter (KOD) and their Cultural, Interracial & Multicultural Special Interest Chapter (CIMRWA). Pursuing her passion of advocating for mainstream distribution of romantic fiction featuring multicultural protagonists by “own voices” authors, she’s working on an upcoming platform to help readers find the literary smorgasbord of delicious romantic works written by authors of color.
